Kenyan Drake

The 25-year old former Alabama product is nearly a carbon copy of Kerryon Johnson.  Drake, a member of the tanking Miami Dolphins, didn’t travel with the team yesterday to Pittsburgh, almost guaranteeing that a trade is in the works.  At the very least, Miami was protecting their asset yesterday from any chance of an injury.

Last season Drake compiled 535 rushing yards on 120 carries.  He also added 53 catches totaling 477 yards.  To go with his 1012 total yards from scrimmage, Drake was able to score 9 touchdowns.

Those rushing numbers don’t add up to a lead back, but he’d be the perfect compliment to Kerryon Johnson when healthy.  On a terrible Miami team, this season, Drake has 47 carries for 174 yards.  He’s also made 22 catches for 174 yards but has failed to score a touchdown in ’19.

It’s rumored that the Miami Dolphins are expecting to receive a mid-round pick for Kenyan Drake‘s services.  I wonder if the Detroit Lions are hoping to flip the fifth-round pick they received for Qunadre Diggs last week for Kenyan Drake?  If that were the case, think of it as Diggs for Drake.  That would be an outstanding deal for Detroit only because it fills an immediate need.

The Detroit Lions are very deep at safety, well depending on Tracy Walker‘s diagnosis.  He was sidelined during the game yesterday with an apparent knee injury. Detroit should check in on Drake.
