Thanksgiving is the most important day on the NFL daily fantasy football calendar. Let’s get ready to win on Thursday, November 28, 2019.

Everyone in the country plays daily fantasy football on Thanksgiving. There will be a lot of people hanging out at family gatherings and playing DFS who never otherwise play, which gives people who pay attention an opportunity to win pretty big.

As always, my emphasis is primarily cash games, with an eye on getting into the money in tournaments. These plays are primarily valued for their high floors and low risk, although some of them have a chance to go off for big games.

I always play my own lineups. I will be playing this lineup, among others featuring a lot of the same players, on Sunday. This lineup is optimized for DraftKings’ salary in the main Sunday slate. Don’t bet what you can’t afford to lose.

Okay, let’s do this.

More from Detroit Jock City

QB | Drew Brees, @ Atlanta, $6,800 and WR | Michael Thomas, @ Atlanta, $9,100

Look, I know I play the Drew Brees/Michael Thomas stack a lot, but bear with me. The Falcons’ secondary isn’t very good, and when they played a few weeks ago, Thomas had 152 yards on 13 receptions despite the fact that the Saints never scored a touchdown. Will Brees and company really not score in the return match? I doubt it. You just don’t see a whole lot of guys at this price point with all-but-guaranteed value. This is the best stack option of the day, and if it hits big, you win money.

RB | Ezekiel Elliot, vs. Buffalo, $7,400

Elliot is at home, favored to win, and averaging over 20 touches a game. Buffalo’s pass defense is one of the league’s best, which means the Cowboys are even more likely to rely on their star back. Super high floor here for this salary.

RB | Tarik Cohen, @ Detroit, $5,000

The Lions’ defense is atrocious and gives up more receiving touchdowns to running backs than any other defense in the NFL. Cohen gets the vast majority of the passing looks out of the backfield, as well as a few carries to supplement. Pretty high floor here with high touchdown equity.

WR | Michael Gallup, vs. Buffalo, $5,500

Amari Cooper struggles against great corners, and Tre’Davious White will be on him on Thursday, opening up target share for Gallup. Gallup’s been a little boom-or-bust, but in this slate, he’s a good option.

WR | Anthony Miller, @ Detroit, $3,900

With no Tyler Gabriel and few tight ends healthy, Miller seems like a good bet to get an uptick in targets with Darius Slay likely shadowing Allen Robinson II. He’s gotten 12 catches on 20 targets in the Bears’ last two games. Definitely risky, but with his opportunity at a low salary, it’s a flier worth taking.

TE | Jared Cook, @ Atlanta, $4,800

Cook is the only tight end in this entire slate with a double-digit projected floor. He gets a ton of red zone looks, and in a high-total game, he makes more sense than trying to pick which value tight end will score.

FLEX | Russell Gage, vs. New Orleans, $4,500

Okay. If Julio Jones doesn’t play, Marshon Lattimore will line up across from Calvin Ridley, giving Gage, who has been getting more looks, a lot of upside at his salary. If Jones—who is a game-time decision—*does* play, however, be ready to make swaps if necessary. Jaden Graham is filling in for Austin Hooper at tight end for Atlanta and can replace Jared Cook if you need to get Ridley in instead. Matt Ryan can also save you money at quarterback. You’ll have options, but you’ll need to pay attention to the inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff.

Next. Three Things to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving. dark

DST | Bears, @ Detroit, $2,500

David Blough is turnover-prone, and the total for this game is in the thirties. This is easily the safest DST play for this slate. Will definitely be the chalk, but a pretty easy play in cash.
