Derrick Rose – A Former NBA MVP

Well, Derrick Rose isn’t an MVP candidate anymore, but no one will ever be able to take that away from him.  When the Pistons signed Derrick Rose this past summer, I was excited, but Iike many of you, I didn’t exactly know what to expect.

More from Detroit Jock City

Which Derrick Rose would we get in Detroit?  Would we get Rose of ’19 where he averaged 18 points per game through 51 games on the season? Or would we be getting the Rose of ’17-’18, where he only played 25 games averaging 8.4 points?

Well so far with the Detroit Pistons we’ve got the ball dominate, scoring threat.  An excellent sign for Pistons fans.  Rose is regularly burying his head and driving the lane to the rack, usually finishing.  He’s a significant upgrade to Reggie Jackson; he can create his own shot and convert.

The Pistons are very cautious of Rose’s minutes, and the results continue to impress.  He’s scoring 16.5 points per game coming off the bench for Detroit in just 23.7 minutes a night on the floor.

Rose, like Griffin, is another name that fans are incredibly familiar with.  They are two players that will draw fans downtown on a snowy Michigan night.

Detroit signed Rose to a two-year $15-million deal, so unless Bruce Brown really impresses Casey down the stretch, Rose may once again be a starter next season when Reggie Jackson is elsewhere.

Enjoy this version of Derrick Rose; he’s still fun to watch.

Next. Life without Matthew Stafford is very unfavorable. dark

Happy Thanksgiving.
