Here’s the NFL daily fantasy football lineup to play in week 17
It’s week 17 in the NFL. Here’s the NFL daily fantasy football lineup to play to win on Sunday, December 29, 2019.
It’s the last week of the regular season in daily fantasy football. It’s a huge 15-game slate with a lot of unknowns as we wait to find out who is sitting and starting for teams with playoff spots sewn up. Follow me on Twitter for lineup updates, especially for a potential late swap.
As always, my emphasis is primarily cash games, with an eye on getting into the money in tournaments. These plays are primarily valued for their high floors and low risk, although some of them have a chance to go off for big games.
I always play my own lineups. I will be playing this lineup, among others featuring a lot of the same players, on Sunday. This lineup is optimized for DraftKings’ salary in the main Sunday slate. Don’t bet what you can’t afford to lose.

Okay, let’s do this.
QB | Ryan Tannehill | $6,800 | @ Houston
Tannehill, who is playing very well, is playing in a meaningful game against one of the league’s worst pass defenses, in a game the Texans might not care about, depending on the Kansas City result. In week 17, that’s a combination that’s hard to pass up.
RB | Joe Mixon | $7,200 | vs. Cleveland
Mixon’s stomach bug didn’t prevent him from getting 21 carries last week, and he should have another high-volume day against a Browns team he hung 30 points on a few weeks ago. Realistically, depending on how the morning goes, I might try to stuff Derrick Henry here.
RB | Ameer Abdullah | $3,900 | vs. Chicago
Minnesota’s playoff placement is not going to move, so I don’t expect them to play many starters. Abdullah out-performed Mike Boone last week will likely be the team’s receiving back and also has kick return equity. He seems likely to make value on Sunday and could break the slate open with a touchdown at his salary.
WR | Julio Jones | $8,500 | @ Tampa Bay
The highest total in the slate. The worst pass defense in football. No Calvin Ridley to take targets away. Jones has the safest floor on the slate, getting 35 targets in his last two games.
WR | Justin Watson | $4,900 | vs. Atlanta
He’s averaging 12 points in his last three games, and getting a lot of redzone looks in the absence of… well, most of the Buccaneers’ receiving corps. Run it back against a mediocre Falcons’ pass defense in the highest total of the week.
WR | Russell Gage | $4,400 | @ Tampa Bay
See Jones, Julio. Gage has been getting consistent targets in the Falcons’ limited passing game, and his salary lets you fit in all the other pieces.
TE | Dallas Goedert | $4,900 | @ NY Giants
With no Zach Ertz and a limited receiving corps for the Eagles in a game that matters, Goedert, who has proven himself even with Ertz in the lineup, should be in line for a lot of targets, even redzone looks.
FLEX | AJ Brown | $7,000 | @ Houston
Marshon Lattimore shut him down last Sunday, but the Texans didn’t two weeks ago, letting the rookie rack up 114 yards on eight catches. This is a fun stack with Tannehill in a meaningful game, and also an opportunity for a late swap.
DST | Cardinals | $2,400 | @ LA Rams
The Rams have nothing to play for, and the Cardinals fly around on defense. Also, late swap at a low price.
