The Detroit Tigers are heading into the 2020 shortened season, here are three pitchers to keep an eye on.

The Detroit Tigers are heading towards the beginning of a 2020 season that is going to be quite the sprint. There may not be a lot of hope with the current roster, but a few names stick out as players who could have good seasons in 2020 on the mound.

While summer camp continues, some of the Tigers pitchers are showing that they could burst onto the scene and have a breakout season, or in some cases, a breakthrough season. The future of Tigers’ pitching may be bright, but not all of those arms are going to see the big leagues in 2020.

Players currently on the Tigers 40-man roster have a better shot at using 2020 as their breakout season, for apparent reason. The way the 2020 Major League Baseball season has shaken out may have put a damper on things, but these arms are all players who are looking to make a splash.

The pitching staff has a lot of young arms that should be exciting, but looking at the 40-man roster, there are a few names that stick out for breakout seasons. Anthony Castro, Michael Fulmer, and Gregory Soto are three names who could break out during the 60-game sprint in 2020.

With the Tigers seeming to focus the 2020 season on their prospects and development of these youngsters, these guys have less pressure and can concentrate on trending upwards. Each of these players is in a unique situation compared to the others mentioned throughout.

Looking at the players, they each are in a different stage of their career, so it offers a unique look as to how three different players should be watched during the 2020 season. In recent years the Tigers bullpen has been horrific, and pitching depth will be crucial during this season.

The 2020 season will rely heavily on having enough arms to get through, the Tigers pitchers will get plenty of opportunities, and this is what makes players like Castro and Soto candidates to get out of the gate running and keep showing strides in development.

While summer camp continues, the Tigers continue to let players like Fulmer and Soto get some reps in during inter-squad games. Castro is looking to get his golden ticket to the big leagues; finally, Fulmer is returning from injury; Soto is looking to earn a spot in the bullpen; keep an eye on all three.

Take a further look at Castro, Fulmer, and Soto and why they are pitchers to watch for the Detroit Tigers during the 2020 season.
