WR: Danny Amendola

The headline states Danny Amendola, but in all reality, we need to steer clear of any Detroit Lions receivers not named Kenny Golladay or Marvin Jones.

The Lions are set to deploy one of the better offenses in all of football entering the 2020 season, but with so many mouths to feed, a player like Amendola will be valuable to the offense as a whole but won’t have much fantasy value unless you are in a very deep 12-14 team league; even then, there are players with more upside.  Amendola brings little to no upside to the table in standard-scoring formats and mild consideration in PPR leagues.

Amendola recorded 62 receptions last season, totaling 678 yards and one touchdown with Detroit, that with Stafford only playing in eight contests.  He averaged under 80 fantasy points last season, taking into consideration the wide range of leagues, scoring values, and fantasy football outlets.

I do believe Amendola will have the odd stellar game where he’ll make eight catches totaling 100 yards and maybe even a score, but it will be like playing the lottery trying to guess which week that production will come.

Other players that seem to be going undrafted are guys like Mike Williams, who recorded over 1,000 yards but only two scores last season.  The big outside receiver has always battled injuries but was a victim of awful quarterback play last season from Philip Rivers.  Williams is worth taking a flier on during the late rounds of your draft.

Other free falling pass-catchers with more significant upside are Christian Kirk, rookie Brandon Aiyuk, and Robby Anderson.  All of the mentioned players are owned in 50% of leagues or less.  Amendola has been drafted in just 2% of Yahoo leagues to date.
