We welcome the NFL back today in full force, but we are also thrilled to be able to play some fantasy football again.

Earlier in the year, the 2020 NFL season, like all sports, had been in serious jeopardy, but here we are welcoming our favorite teams back.  Most of us are also relieved to be able to play some more DFS fantasy football again.

I expect there will be a plethora of injuries this season, more than usual, with the minimal offseason programs, and that opens the door for players who’d regularly be overlooked in fantasy football to pay dividends as the season treks on.

A few notable injured players heading into week one of the season are Mike Evans (game-time decision), Kenny Golladay, Miles Sanders, and Deebo Samuel are all out.  The latter two come into play as they can produce in fantasy football at a very affordable rate as we try to fill out the bottom of our Sunday roster.

Let’s jump into this, but remember, only spend what you are willing to lose.

QB| Lamar Jackson | vs. Browns | $9,400

It’s a steep price to pay, and I generally search for a quarterback that has the potential to produce a similar stat line as the high priced Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Drew Brees of the world, but as you can guess, it’s complicated.

This time, we’re going to plug in the most expensive quarterback of the week, not just because he’s extremely dynamic, but the Ravens open their season hosting the Cleveland Browns.

Need I say more?

Last season, Jackson averaged 28 DFS points per game, by far the best of the available quarterbacks understanding that Mahomes played Thursday night.  Plug the dual-threat playmaker into your starting lineup and deal with the depth of your team later.
