 Dominik Kahun

Here’s another 25-year old forward that’s spent his first two NHL seasons playing with three different organizations.  Dominik Kahun, similar to Duclair in Ottawa, failed to come to terms with the Buffalo Sabres, and the restricted free agent wasn’t tendered a qualifying offer from the club, making him free to sign wherever he pleases as an unrestricted free agent.

Kahun had initially broken into the league with the Chicago Blackhawks as an undrafted free agent from the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey league.

The Czech Republic native enjoyed a very respectable rookie campaign scoring 13 goals while adding 24 assists in all of Chicago’s 82 games in 2018-19.

Last season Kahun spent split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres.  The young forward recorded 12 goals and 31 points last year and maintained a reliable Corsi For Percentage of 50.

Kahun would fit in nicely as a middle-six forward, with the potential of playing plenty of second-line minutes if his on-ice performance and coaching staff deems he’s earned it.  Kahun has averaged just 13:48 minutes on ice per game through his young career.
