A former second-round selection from the Ken Holland era, Jonatan Berggren, has given plenty of excitement over in Sweden.

For the Detroit Red Wings, forward Jonatan Berggren could be one of the players to keep an eye on. While he was a product of Ken Holland, he still is an exciting prospect to watch. Berggren has battled with some injuries, but now that he is healthy, he is playing well.

Currently, Berggren is in Sweden, playing for Skellefteå AIK in the SHL, where he has been on fire. To start the season, Berggren has played in 18 games where he has five goals and 15 assists for 20 total points, being a plus-three on the season.

The 5-foot-11, 183-pound winger has not made his way over to North America yet, but that could be on the horizon. With the way that Berggren has started the 2020-21 SHL season, there should be a lot of excitement.

The excitement should be for the future, to see what Berggren can offer for the Red Wings and to see how he makes the transition. Over in the SHL, he has been an incredibly talented and smart player for Skellefteå AIK, but no one knows for sure how it will translate over to the NHL.

There are highlights available of Berggren scoring, but more importantly, highlights of him making things happen in the offensive zone. He has seemingly settled in nicely with his Skellefteå AIK teammates, working well to find the open man, create scoring chances, and overall put the puck in the net as a collective unit.

After injuries plagued his last two seasons, but Berggren has battled through the adversity and shown what he can do on the ice. That being said, the Red Wings should be excited for what is to come from the winger.
