Detroit Red Wings: 3 prospects that fans should be excited about
By Tyler Kotila
Perhaps the most exciting non-first round choice of the Detroit Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft is forward Sam Stange.
The Detroit Red Wings selected forward Sam Stange in the fourth round of the 2020 Entry Draft earlier this offseason. That pick may not have stuck out to many, but the winger is one of the most athletic and exciting prospects in the draft class.
There are a lot of things that make Stange a fun player to keep an eye on. He is exciting to watch, being that he is very athletic, and it shows on the ice with his abilities to make things happen all over the ice.
If he can develop his game all around, the Red Wings might have stumbled upon an exceptional draft choice. Given that Stange is playing for the University of Wisconsin, there is plenty of reason to believe that Stange will excel with those around him.

Wisconsin may not be ranked number one or even in the top ten in the country, but Stange will develop extremely well around the group of players that Wisconsin has for him to learn from and work with.
So far in 2020, Stange has played in three games, not registering a point, but give it time.
He is only a freshman as well; keep that in mind before jumping to any conclusions.
In 2019 over 48 total games in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), Stange logged 26 goals and 19 assists for 45 total points.
The 6-foot-1, 201-pound winger will look to develop into a highly-touted offensive threat at the NCAA level. He is known for his shoot-first style that allows him to put the puck in the back of the net or just put pucks on net.
Overall, Stange’s time with Wisconsin is going to be exciting to watch. Keeping track of his development path and watching him develop into a true scoring threat that will make the jump into the Red Wings system.
Beyond Stange, there are a plethora of exciting prospects to watch for and keep an eye on. The future is very bright for the Detroit Red Wings organization, trust in the Yzerplan.
