Reason #3: The Detroit Tigers are now in the hands of the new manager, A.J. Hinch, and his newly appointed coaching staff.

The Detroit Tigers saw former manager Ron Gardenhire retire during the 2020 season; early in the offseason, the team would bring in A.J. Hinch to take over the managerial duties. The Tigers hired Hinch to manage their team through the rebuild, and this is a good thing.

While Hinch has only been the manager for a few weeks, he has already been hard at work to get the ball rolling here in Detroit. Hinch has already appointed some of his new coaches, including Derek Fetter as the pitching coach. Fetter is one of the most exciting hires that Hinch made, bringing a ton to the table in a transition from the University of Michigan to the Tigers.

That being said, Hinch is doing a good job to get “his guys” or guys that he trusts into these positions to foster the best success he can with his new organization. Fans should be enjoying this process; Hinch is looking to turn things around with the Tigers after the cheating scandal put a damper on his career.

The Tigers should still be excited to see what Hinch can bring to the table, he will be tasked with proving he truly can win, and he is going to have to do that by starting with player development.

He will have to spend at least two seasons really hammering in on the prospects’ player development.

From there on out, they will be able to move on and enter a time of competition once again, and the idea is that Hinch is the man for the job.

The Tigers have been struggling, and it is good to see a manager coming in that should be capable of getting them through the end of the rebuild. The Tigers should be thankful for Hinch as he comes into Detroit and looks to turn things around and help this organization get out of the rebuild.

In a year where things have been crazy for everyone, take a moment to be thankful for the fact that baseball was still played this year; even though it was different, Tigers fans got to watch their players take the field at a minimum.

Happy Thanksgiving!
