Running Back sits

87. . Running Back. Carolina Panthers. Mike Davis. 1. player

I’ll be the first to admit it — I hung onto hope for Carolina Panthers running back Mike Davis for far too long. Davis started the year out well after being thrust into the starting role while Christian McCaffrey battled injuries. As the season progressed, however, Davis’ fantasy football performances continually diminished.

Things aren’t looking more positive headed into Week 16 either.

The Panthers have a matchup against the Washington Football team and their defense is no slouch vs opposing running backs. They are among the statistical leaders in fewest receptions (55) and touchdowns (11 total) allowed to ball carriers.

Furthermore, Davis has scored 10 PPR points or less in six of his past seven games.

Arizona Cardinals. Kenyan Drake. 2. player. 32. . Running Back

In last week’s DFS article I explained my reasoning as to wanting to play Kenyan Drake vs the Eagles, but this week I’m explaining my reasoning to sit him against the San Francisco 49ers.

For me, it’s not so much the matchup this week, although prior to Tony Pollard balling-out against them in Week 15 they were pretty solid vs the run. It’s more based on usage, especially with Chase Edmonds in the mix.

In three of his last five games, Drake has received11 carries or fewer. In all three of those games, he rushed for 50-yards or less making him very touchdown-dependent. If you’re in a pinch, maybe. But if you can go elsewhere with the stakes high, I’d recommend it.
