Top priced Fantasy Football Running Backs

Similar to how there were values peppered in everywhere last week at the wide receiver position, there are many values scattered about for running backs this week. Let’s take a look at the four highest priced ball carriers on the main slate before we dive in.

  1. Christian McCaffery – (vs. WAS) $9,200
  2. Nick Chubb – (vs NYJ) $7,800
  3. David Montgomery – (vs JAX) $7,700
  4. Austin Ekeler – (vs DEN) $7,600

From what I’ve seen so far, it looks unlikely that McCaffery will see the field in Week 16. I like Chubb a lot this week as he faces the New York Jets. I expect a solid game, but because he shares the backfield with Kareem Hunt, we know he’s not going to get 25+ carries. Expect the usual 15-20—still a solid play. I’ll certainly have some exposure.

Values/good plays at RB

1. player. 57. . RB - $7,700. Chicago Bears. David Montgomery

As we mentioned in our discussion about Mitch Trubisky, this feels like a David Montgomery week. The dude has been on an absolute tear as of late, and over his last four games, his Draftkings scores have been 28.3, 27.1, 27.3, and 32.2. His volume in the passing game has increased, and his schedule keeps getting softer. This week he gets the Jaguars.

His price is fair, but be aware he will likely be very highly owned in tournaments just based on recency bias.

. RB - $6,200. Baltimore Ravens. J.K. Dobbins. 2. player. 26

J.K. Dobbins Draftkings scores haven’t been anything astronomical, and his price is creeping up. He has, however, hit paydirt in four consecutive games. He has a seemingly decent workload moving forward, even with Gus Edwards in the mix.

His matchup this week is with the New York Giants. Dobbins is not a bad play.

124. . RB - $5,800. Kansas City Chiefs. Le'Veon Bell. 3. player

Le’Veon Bell is not the same player he used to be, but he doesn’t really need to be in the Kansas City Chiefs offense. The Chiefs are heavily favored at home vs. the Atlanta Falcons this week, and due to the injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Bell should see 20+ carries — including red-zone work, which brings with it rushing touchdown upside.

He may not get many catches, and Kansas City does have a creative playbook that includes toss-sweeps and jet-sweeps, but at his, price Bell is a good value in Week 16.

Play him with confidence.

56. . RB - $4,800. Cincinnati Bengals. Giovani Bernard. 4. player

Even after his showing vs. the Steelers on Monday Night Football in Week 15, I have a hard time hitching onto Giovani Bernard in daily fantasy football. Against the Steelers, Bernard had a solid 25 carries but only managed 83 yards on the ground. That averages out to 3.3 yards-per-carry. He also doesn’t get many targets in the passing game, and the Bengals are relying on their third-string quarterback.

You do have to keep Gio in mind, though, as he faces a Houston Texans team in Week 16 that has allowed the second-most points to opposing running backs.

You can insert Bernard into your lineups, but temper expectations some.
