The Detroit Red Wings announced that Tyler Bertuzzi would miss a road trip at the end of January, placing him on injured reserve on February 3rd. Bertuzzi has missed the entirety of February and his return does not seem anywhere in sight.

In 2020-21, Bertuzzi has played all of nine games, with the last time he suited up being January 30th against the Dallas Stars. The Red Wings are terrible once again in 2020-21, the offense is lackluster.

Without Bertuzzi in the lineup, the scoring is hurt even more since he has been one of the top three forwards on the team in the past few seasons. He has become a true source of offense on this rebuilding Red Wings team.

The Red Wings may not be much better with Bertuzzi in the lineup, but missing out on his offense is definitely noticeable. Bertuzzi’s injury continues to keep him off the ice is only making things worse on the Red Wings who have little to no help in the goal-scoring column.

While the Red Wings have gotten their scoring from players like Anthony Mantha and Bobby Ryan, having Bertuzzi in the lineup would only help them.

However, Bertuzzi is nowhere near returning to the ice for games as he is still not practicing.

A few days back it was noted that Bertuzzi is still at least a week away from returning which means he could be back on the ice in the middle of the week.

But he is still battling the upper-body injury that has prevented him from playing for over a month.

In the nine games that Bertuzzi has played, he had registered five goals and two assists for seven total points for the Red Wings.

Being without Bertuzzi for this long, it may take him a little while to get back into the swing of things.

That being said, it might take him a few times skating and practicing again to get back into the Red Wings lineup once again. Even if he does get back on the ice soon, the likelihood of him playing in a game is low.

Meaning he will be even further behind and it will take a lot to get him back on track. It sucks for Bertuzzi after such a strong 2019-20 season that his 2020-21 season has turned into this. The hope for him would be that he can get back on the ice soon or just get healthy for that matter.
