How important is it for the Detroit Lions to nail their first-round pick? The NFL Draft is less than a week away. Time flies when you are immersed in mock draft and film breakdowns!

The NFL Network is a gift from a higher power. I have listened to every analysts’ top 50 players. I have watched some of my favorite personalities breakdown mock draft after mock draft. I have even shared some of my own thoughts on what the Lions should do before the draft.

It has been too quiet over the past week after the Falcons and Eagles announced they would be open in trading draft picks. The Lions had the opportunity to pounce but did not move on any of the two opportunities.

Unfortunately, reality has begun to settle. The Lions are going to draft from the seventh spot. However, who are they going to select?

Whoever the Detroit Lions pick at seventh overall has to be a slam dunk.

Lions ownership has promised a new era with a new general manager, Brad Holmes, and a new head coach, Dan Campbell. It begins with the draft.

They must hit big with their seventh pick. The 2021 class has a lot of depth at a lot of positions. Most importantly, it has a lot of depth within the top ten picks.

Detroit can hit on a handful of players, but I will offer a few slam dunk selections.

*In this piece, The Lions do not trade up or down. They are selecting from the seventh spot.*
