Devonta Smith

With the recent activity on the draft board, players have begun to fall on some big boards. Devonta Smith has been one of the players to drop in draft stock.

Smith is the most talented wide receiver in the draft. He has an extensive route tree paired with downhill speed. He weighs 166 pounds, soaking wet. However, it still cannot be taken down by defenders.

Smith compliments Goff with his ability to get open and run more routes than receivers on the roster currently. Another Cooper Kupp could be staring Detroit in the face in less than one week.

Ja’Marr Chase

Smith ranks higher in this article because of the probability of being available at the seventh pick. Ja’Marr Chase has a small chance of slipping a few spots. If so, Detroit needs to grab the phone.

The difference between Chase and Smith is body physique. Chase has the body type like a receiver who can compete in the league. Smith looks like he is ready for his first game of junior varsity.

Chase can do everything Smith can do, if not better in some aspects. He fills the void Golladay left before signing with the Giants. The potential versatility of the receiving core allows Goff to mimic his 2019 performance.
