Detroit Lions: Offensive Line (9)

  1. Taylor Decker
  2. Frank Ragnow
  3. Penei Sewell
  4. Jonah Jackson
  5. Halapoulivaati Vaitai
  6. Tyrell Crosby
  7. Logan Stenberg
  8. Matt Nelson
  9. Evan Brown

You can never have enough offensive linemen.  I wavered from keeping eight or nine, but with the injury to Stenberg and likely a designation to the injured reserve, Tommy Kraemer may be destined to make the opening day roster.

The Detroit Lions have concerns on the right side of their offensive line, with rookie Penei Sewell struggling to adapt to his new position of right tackle.  Also, Sewell did not play last season due to the coronavirus pandemic, so while getting off to a slow start in ’21 is frustrating, it is also expected when looking at the full picture.

It doesn’t help that he’s being lined up next to the often struggling Vaitai.  Entering the summer, I had hoped Stenberg would elevate his game in year two and overtake Vaitai. Still, despite having a nice camp, a leg injury in Detroit’s final preseason game has plagued his progress for the time being.
