The Detroit Lions are looking to avoid their first 0-3 start since 2015, as the team takes on the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday. The Lions have shown glimpses of decent football this season but have yet to put together a complete performance. Here’s the preview for a pivotal Week Three matchup.

The Detroit Lions offensive has shown that it can put points on the board this season. However, the offense is far from complete. The team has yet to find a running game in their first two matchups due to playing from behind in the second half. Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift need to get touches early to keep the Ravens’ defense guessing.

The injury/COVID bug has hit the team this week as Tyrell Williams went on the IR due to a concussion issue. Starting kicker Austin Seibert was placed in COVID protocol which could mean the Lions will be looking for a new placekicker before Sunday.

The Ravens may also be dealing with a serious injury as starting QB Lamar Jackson sat out of practice today. The Ravens listed Jackson out of practice due to illness. If Jackson isn’t in the lineup Saturday, 2nd year QB Tyler Huntley will be under center.

The Ravens come into this game 1-1 after opening the season in a tough loss against the Raiders. In Week Two, the Ravens took a shootout victory against the defending AFC champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Detroit Lions defense will not be catching a break this week when Baltimore comes to town.

In two games this season, the Lions’ defense has given up 765 total yds and 76 points. A healthy Ravens offense will push to run the ball against a defense that has given up 227 rushing yards this season. The Lions will be short-handed in the secondary, and with troubles at linebacker, this could be a long night for the entire defense.

Next. Don’t worry about Jared Goff, start focusing on the defense. dark

The Lions will more than likely have to put up a high-scoring performance to defeat the Ravens on Sunday. An 0-3 start will have many fans realizing this rebuild will be a painful road. WynnBET currently has the Ravens as -9.5 point favorites. The Lions will have a tough road ahead trying to secure their first victory of the 2021 season.
