#2: Detroit Red Wings forward Pius Suter

Another player new to the Detroit Red Wings organization is forward Pius Suter, who recently joined the team this offseason on a two-year contract. He’s also another player who will be around more than just the 2021-22 season as he signed a two-year deal worth $3.25 million a season.

There’s a lot of intrigue with Suter as to what he can be after a strong season with the Chicago Blackhawks in his first NHL Season. He was able to play 55 of the team’s 56 games, where he had 14 goals and 13 assists for the 27 total points on the year. Including a hat trick against the Red Wings.

However, in 2021-22 the hope will be that Suter can produce similarly and possibly even better. There’s no real telling what could happen in year two in the NHL, so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

It seems that he is going to be a valuable member of the Red Wings forward core; the question will be exactly where he slots in. With some uncertainty on the injury of Jakub Vrána, there could be a chance for Suter to be a staple on the team’s second line and possibly be bounced around in the team’s top six.

Fans should be excited; nonetheless, he is coming off of a strong season and should be able to do more of the same in 2021-22, one would hope.
