The Detroit Tigers may not be able to jump into the offseason quite yet, but they are going to have to make some decisions on what is best for the organization. The rest of the postseason has to be carried out before the offseason truly begins, but the Tigers are likely going to be active players.

When the Detroit Tigers are targeting free agents, there is no 100% guarantee that they are going to shell out the big bucks for players like Carlos Correa or Clayton Kershaw.

However, it seems like the Tigers are still going to bring in some impact players rather than spending less than $5 million on a one-year deal with filler guys. It’s better for the team and will hopefully help them get over the hump and start moving towards competition.

It’s certainly going to still take a year, but if the Tigers are able to bring in some solid talent, they will be in an even better spot. If the Tigers want to bring home some familiar faces, there are going to be plenty of opportunities to do so.

There are going to be a few former Tigers who are on the market this offseason, and adding one or more of them back could be incredibly beneficial to the team. It depends on where the Tigers decide to allocate their spending and how much the team is going to spend.

A slight disclaimer… Justin Verlander is not on this list, even though most would probably expect it since he could very well wind up back in the Motor City. It just seems that the Houston Astros are going to do whatever they have to do to keep Verlander around.

That being said…

Here are three former Detroit Tigers that should be given chances to return.
