The Detroit Lions are winless, yet again. This time they are heading into the Week 7 matchup, and things may feel a little different for both teams. Not everyone involved, but it’s a bit of a homecoming week for parties on both sides of this week’s matchup.

The Detroit Lions are heading out to Los Angeles to take on the Rams, who are 5-1 and looking to compete with the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West. This game might mean just a little bit more for some Lions and Rams players as well as personnel.

Lions General Manager Brad Holmes is a product of the Rams and will be headed back to Los Angeles for the first time as a member of a new organization. On the field, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will be facing the Lions for the first time in his 13-year NFL career.

On the Lions side of things, quarterback Jared Goff will be heading back to Los Angeles to face the Rams for the first time in his career, still searching for his first win without Sean McVay coaching him. It’s going to be an exciting matchup on Sunday night, that’s for sure.

The Detroit Lions have a homecoming matchup this weekend.

It surely has not been the Detroit Lions season. Injuries left and right have made things quite challenging. The team’s receiving core is almost nothing at this point, with injuries deteriorating it. Besides injuries, there have been some issues that leave the Lions looking rough.

Between some mental mistakes and things that just need to be cleaned up, it’s going to be another tough weekend to get a win. Stafford is out in Los Angeles, putting the league on notice of how great he truly is, and all signs point to another victory this weekend.

While there may be some emotions being tugged at having to play against the Lions and vice versa for Jared Goff, it seems like Stafford will be able to continue to get the job done out in Los Angeles, and the Lions will keep grinding.

It’s not that the Lions’ new staff is bad; frankly, they are working their tails off to grind out that first win, and it will come, just not this weekend.

Prediction: I got last week’s right and broke the streak of incorrect predictions. That being said, let’s look at this weekend. I think the Los Angeles Rams will come out throwing, and Matthew Stafford will elevate this team to a victory on Sunday Night. I’ve got the Rams cruising to a two-score win at a minimum and coming out on top easily. Stafford is going to show Lions fans nothing new and show out with his new squad.
