The Detroit Lions did something last weekend… it was not a win, but they took a step in the right direction. Amid a game of questionable football, the Lions were able to squeak out a tie in overtime.

This weekend the Detroit Lions will head to Ohio to take on the Cleveland Browns after securing their first non-loss of the season. The path to 0-17 is no more, but sadly 0-16-1 is still alive. But a win should still be in the cards, and Dan Campbell is going to keep this group on the right path.

The 5-5 Browns, on the other hand, are coming off of a curb-stomping loss to the New England Patriots.  They currently sit at the bottom of the AFC North in a tie with the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers, who all stand at five wins. The Browns just have the most losses.

The Browns have a lot of injury issues that have slowed up things for their offense, and this could bleed into this weekend’s contest. Former Michigan Wolverines wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones tweaked a groin injury, Kareem Hunt remains out with his calf injury but Nick Chubb was activated helping add back to the Browns roster.

The Detroit Lions are trending in the right direction.

There’s still a lot to clean up and a lot that needs to get better, but the Lions have proven that they are going to come out and fight hard for 60 minutes over and over again. The Lions’ offense needs to button things up, and while the Browns have injuries, the Lions have their own injuries to worry about.

Jared Goff sat out of practice early in the week to get right and ensure he is 100% good to go, but it seems like even after a lighter week, the team’s signal-caller may not be 100% on Sunday. As the Lions prepare for the weekend, it’s safe to say it’s going to be another week fighting nail and tooth.

The Lions’ offense has not exactly turned heads, but if D’Andre Swift can get the run game going again, there is hope that the Lions can put points on the board. The Browns defense had some holes last weekend and had 45 points hung on them by Mac Jones and the Patriots.

Not to mention, Josh Reynolds will likely be running routes this week for the Lions, helping beef the wide receiver group, at least a little bit. It’s not an addition of Odell Beckham Jr., but it allows the Lions to try and spread the ball around more and maybe try and kick start this offense.

Prediction: This weekend it seems like the Browns are going to run away with this. Even with an ailing offense, they have tools who have stepped up and made it happen. The Browns should likely cover and go on to a hefty victory. Even saying that, it seems like taking the under might be the safe play. The Lions’ offense is not great; that’s more than evident.
