It’s nice to have Tyler Bertuzzi back in the Detroit Red Wings lineup

The Detroit Red Wings had to go through the 2021-22 season without Tyler Bertuzzi, which put a damper on the team’s offense, among other things. It did seem like the Red Wings may be without Bertuzzi for quite some time, but he was able to get healthy again in time for this year.
Having Bertuzzi back in the Detroit Red Wings lineup has helped the team’s offense immensely. While I’m sure that people will throw arms up in the air and think that Bertuzzi’s vaccination choices make him worth a lot less.
But, let’s just put that aside; it’s a discussion for another time. Having Bertuzzi back in the lineup, adding to the team’s top line, is helping the offense a lot. Bertuzzi has been skating alongside Dylan Larkin and finding ways to get under the skin of the opposition.
He may not be the best skater, but Bertuzzi’s stick makes up for what he does not have in terms of agility and speed. The Red Wings have often seen Bertuzzi pick the pockets of defenders and earn some takeaways; he’s got 14 on the year, which leads the team so far in 2021-22.
It’s a blessing to have Tyler Bertuzzi back in the Detroit Red Wings lineup.
As the 2021-22 season winds on, Bertuzzi will continue putting up points and contributing. As it stands now, he’s second on the team in points with nine goals and eight assists for 17 points which trails Lucas Raymond by a point.
He’s been able to get things done and be a producing member of the offense, and his presence with the Red Wings certainly was missed. After last year was soured, and he was unable to get things going the way he would have liked, he has picked it up in 2021-22.
Before the injury wiped out last season, he was able to cap off a solid season in 2019-20, where he played all 71 games before the pandemic shut things down. He’s scored 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 total points, which was stellar for him.
To hope that he can do something similar in 2021-22 is fair, and it seems like he should be able to do so. As long as he can continue to provide support for this offense, it’s going to continue to be a solid deal to have Bertuzzi around with this organization.

It seems like he will continue to be one of the team’s top performers, but after a year without Bertuzzi, it sure is nice to have him back.
