Detroit Red Wings are set to get Tyler Bertuzzi back in the lineup
By Tyler Kotila
It’s not the first time that the Detroit Red Wings have been without forward Tyler Bertuzzi this season. But after spending time in the COVID-19 protocols, it seems that he is going to be able to return and get back on the ice for Tuesday’s matchup with the New York Islanders.
He’s been off the ice for some time now as the team continues on with their schedule after he had to spend ten days in quarantine due to his unvaccinated status. The Detroit Red Wings certainly miss out on Bertuzzi when he is not in the lineup, but his return will help.
The Red Wings are fifth in the Atlantic Division standings with a 13-12-3 record, somehow staying in the playoff hunt. This month’s results are going to be huge for the team. Getting Bertuzzi back into the lineup as soon as possible is going to be crucial for the organization.
He’s been a big help for this team’s offense these last few years. While the team is getting production from other places, Bertuzzi has established himself as one of the team’s premier scoring threats.
Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi is reportedly set to return on Tuesday.
A recent article from the Detroit Free Press mentioned that head coach Jeff Blashill said Bertuzzi will be ready to return against the Islanders. It’s excellent news as the Red Wings road trip did not give the team any sort of favorable results after two bad losses.
The Red Wings have seen Tyler Bertuzzi provide an incredible benefit for this offense in the past, and this season is the same. Bertuzzi has logged 20 games for the Red Wings, where he has nine goals and nine assists for 18 total points.
While last year was not good for Bertuzzi at all with his injury situation, staying strong in 2021-22 and logging games is going to be crucial. It’s important for the Red Wings to get him back in the lineup since he already is at a disadvantage being unable to travel to Canada for any of those games.
With his production being so crucial for the Red Wings offense, it’ll be good to get him back out there on the top line alongside the team’s captain Dylan Larkin. As the team heads back to Hockeytown after the rough road trip, they’ll be getting a nice boost as Bertuzzi returns to the ice for the Red Wings.
