It’s officially NFL Mock Draft season. The Detroit Lions are about to close out a roller-coaster first season under a new management regime and coaching staff. Still, for as low as the lows were in 2021, we’ve seen plenty of progress from head coach Dan Campbell and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

The one thing that is severely lacking in overall talent. It’s difficult to win in the NFL when you have talent; when you don’t, it’s nearly impossible.

When you look up and down the Detroit Lions’ depth chart, it’s a miracle that Campbell has guided this team to a pair of wins and a tie. That record doesn’t even reflect their late-game collapses against Baltimore, Minnesota, and Cleveland.

It’s wild to think the Detroit Lions could be sitting with five or six wins with this roster.

The Detroit Lions have plenty of pieces that are expected to be around throughout the rebuild. Still, they need help at basically every level of the defense and every position on the offense, perhaps excluding the offensive line. I would like to see Detroit use a couple of late draft choices on day three to shore up their depth across the offensive line.

Now, let’s jump into this abbreviated 2022 Detroit Lions 3-round NFL Mock Draft.

After shocking the league and upsetting the Arizona Cardinals in Detroit, the Lions surrendered the rights to the first overall pick. That selection is currently in the hands of the dysfunctional Jacksonville Jaguars.

Following the Jaguars sit the Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, New York Jets, with the New York Giants round out top five. Oddly enough, the sixth overall pick also belongs to the Jets. Robert Saleh’s Jets currently own two of the top six picks in 2022.

I will be using The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine for this activity.
