It wasn’t too many years ago that Michigan vs. Michigan State was a game that fans on both sides had circled all season.

Of course, that’s no longer the case as the Wolverines (7-0) have ascended to the ranks of college football’s elite while the Spartans (2-4) recently fired coach Mel Tucker.

But even though we can all probably guess that Michigan will win, that doesn’t mean we can’t find betting value for this matchup (and win $200 in bonus bets at DraftKings)!

Let’s dig into the odds.

Michigan vs. Michigan State Odds, Spread and Total

The Wolverines are a ridiculous -2400 moneyline favorite, which means you’d have to bet $2,400 on them just to win $100!

Since no one in their right mind is taking those odds, let’s ignore the moneyline.

Michigan is also a massive 24-point favorite over Michigan State, and that still might not be enough for the Spartans to cover.

The Spartans are a solid 3-2-1 against the spread (ATS) this season, but when you look deeper, it’s clear to see why this spread is so high.

The two best teams MSU has played this season – Washington and Maryland – gave the team fits. The Spartans didn’t cover the spread in either of those losses as their offense was held to under 10 points in both games.

Michigan is first in the nation, allowing just 6.7 points per game this season (admittedly against a cupcake schedule) and is second in the nation allowing just 233.1 yards of offense per game.

When you also consider that the Wolverines have covered ridiculous spreads for three straight weeks, it’s easy to see how they do the same against a downtrodden Spartans squad.

If you’re worried that 24 points might be too much to cover, consider taking over 46 total points instead.

The Wolverines have scored 30+ points in every game this season, including 45 or more in three straight games. It might take just one touchdown from Michigan State to hit this over.
