The Lions are entering the easy part of their schedule beginning with an up-and-down Chargers team that’s won two straight.

Detroit is a slight road favorite and it’s fared well in that spot this season, going 2-0 when favored on the road this season.

But does that mean history will keep repeating itself? Let’s dive into the odds (and how you can win $200 in bonus bets at BetMGM).

Lions vs. Chargers Week 10 Opening Odds

Detroit is favored to win for the seventh time in nine games this season, and that’s good news for you, as it’s covered the spread five out of six times as a favorite this year.

The Lions are as healthy as they’ve been in weeks, too, with all of their starters returning to practice this week, and that might be one reason why the total points is set so high (48.5 points, the highest total of Week 10).

That’s BIG news because Detroit has been banged up on the offensive line and in the run game – the team’s strengths.

With the offense now back together, this could be a great spot for a statement win.

The Chargers aren’t too banged up themselves, either, but quarterback Justin Herbert hasn’t looked quite like himself since he fractured a finger on his non-throwing hand earlier this season.

That injury, along with the season-long absence of Mike Williams, might make life easier on the Detroit defense, especially when you consider its success against the run.

The Lions have allowed just 76.8 rush yards per game (2nd best in the NFL). If Herbert can’t get the passing game going, it might be difficult for the Chargers to keep up.

Therefore, my best bet in this game is Detroit -3 points on the spread. The Lions are one of the most complete teams in football, and even if this game is close, Brandon Staley has mastered the art of fumbling the bag late.
