The Lions and their high-powered offense have been a thrill to watch this season, so it should be no surprise that this weekend’s against Chicago has the highest projected total of Week 11.

That total COULD creep even higher if Justin Fields returns from injury this week. The Bears have averaged just under 18 points per game since he went out with a thumb injury, but the over hit 5-of-5 times in games that Fields has started this season.

But that’s not the only betting line that could move this week.

There’s no guarantee that Fields plays this week, with coach Matt Eberflus saying he’s ‘in a good spot,’ but we won’t know more until after Wednesday’s practice.

If Fields does return, the total points almost certainly will tick up from its current number. The Bears averaged 23 points in five Fields starts compared to 19 points in four starts by Tyson Bagent. And it’s undeniable that Fields is the more dangerous playmaker of the two, when healthy.

If you like Detroit as a 10-point favorite, it might be best to wait on that wager. If Fields returns, it’s safe to assume that would only help Chicago’s odds.

But it might not matter. Chicago is just 3-5-2 against the spread this season while Detroit is 7-2, including covering spreads of -7 (Raiders) and -10 (Panthers)!
