2. Josh Paschal, defensive end
One player who hasn't really lived up to his NFL Draft billing is 2022 second-round pick Josh Paschal.
Paschal scored a whopping 9.70 on the RAS scale coming out of Kentucky and playing off the edge, he was supposed to be a pretty immediate impact player for the Lions. Unfortunately, he's struggled to make an impact even just in the pass rush rotation.
Over the last two seasons, Paschal has played a total of 942 snaps and had just 11 QB hits and 3.0 sacks. One sack every 315 snaps is simply not going to cut it for an NFL team that is trying to win the Super Bowl, and has legitimate aspirations of doing so.
Paschal is one of a number of players from the 2022 NFL Draft class around the league who might just need a change of scenery. It wouldn't be surprising at all to see players changing teams on Day 3 of this year's draft with late-round pick swaps happening, and it also wouldn't be surprising in the slightest to see teams still very interested in Paschal.
He is still just 25 going on 26 this coming season, and he did have a career-best 17 total pressures last season. Again, that came on 500 total snaps, so the efficiency as a pass rusher on a per-snap basis was just not there, but teams are still going to have their scouting reports on Paschal close at hand.
NFL teams don't give up on athletic edge players easily, so the Lions might even be able to get something of decent value, even if it's just a pick swap on Day 3.
