Ronald Curry, Bills QB Coach

As Dan Campbell teased earlier in the week, external candidates will also be considered for the opening. There is obviously a long list of potential options but it's safe to assume that the new offensive coordinator will be someone with either ties to the organization or to Campbell.

Ronald Curry fits that mold. After a brief stint in Detroit as a player, Curry established himself as a respected offensive coach, working for the 49ers, Saints, and the Bills over the last decade. He spent eight seasons in New Orleans, including the four years Campbell was the assistant head coach and tight ends coach for the Saints.

Not only do Campbell and Curry have a working relationship, but they also helped build some of the best offenses in the league during their Saints tenure. Between 2016 and 2020, when both of them were in New Orleans, the Saints never ranked outside the top five in scoring. The Saints made four straight postseason appearances in that span.

Curry continued his success as an NFL assistant in his first season with the Bills. As Josh Allen's quarterbacks coach, he led the star signal-caller to the best season of his career, bringing Buffalo one win away from the Super Bowl. His experience working with elite quarterbacks and as a passing game coordinator makes him an intriguing candidate to potentially take Jared Goff and the Lions offense to the next level.
