4. Tobias Harris

Harris is under contract through the end of the 2025-26 season after the front office inexplicably gave him a two-year, $52 million guaranteed contract in the offseason.

The 32-year-old forward has been as advertised this season. The Pistons benefit from his veteran competence and average forward play since they had far worse options last year. Yet, Harris is still massively overpaid as he is averaging 12.9 points per game on 43.9/32.6/83.8 shooting splits.

However, the former Sixer will be an intriguing trade chip for the Pistons throughout this year. Whether it's this deadline, the offseason, or the 2025-26 season, Harris gives the Pistons their best chance to trade for a high-end player due to his salary.

Harris is the highest-paid player on the Pistons roster. Once Cade Cunningham's max contract kicks in next season, Harris will be the second highest-paid player. Considering how the rest of the roster consists of players on rookie contracts, Harris and Isaiah Stewart are the only players Detroit can include in a trade to get them to a salary high enough to be able to trade for a star.

If the Pistons make any substantial trades in 2025, Harris will likely be included. His expiring contract could be an appealing option in the offseason for some rebuilding teams, making him a potential 2025 departure for Detroit.
