The injuries took a major toll on the Lions defensively. The key losses on the defensive line received a ton of attention, but how decimated their secondary was by the end of the season flew relatively under the radar.

Carlton Davis suffered a season-ending injury toward the end of the season and Amik Robertson left the Commanders game with a devastating injury after two snaps. The Lions had to rely on Kindle Vildor to step up opposite Terrion Arnold.

Vildor struggled in his attempt to fill Robertson's shoes. Despite playing every snap after the injury, he finished with a 50.4 defensive grade on PFF, allowing four catches for 136 yards and a touchdown. He gave up a 149.3 passer rating in coverage while missing two tackles.

In his 316 defensive snaps throughout the season, Vildor ranked as the 115th-best cornerback out of 118 eligible players with a 46.7 grade. It is hard to see him return after that performance.

Khalil Dorsey didn't fare much better in his limited snaps. He received a 47.7 PFF grade in the 14 games he appeared in this season. Like many of his teammates, his season was cut short as he landed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

The Lions are likely better off revamping their CB room as much as possible this offseason. Davis, Robertson, and Arnold will be there but the depth options could use a massive upgrade.
