CB Terrion Arnold

As mentioned previously, Terrion Arnold's job will be safe heading into training camp and the preseason. The Lions have invested a lot in the former Alabama standout and will likely not give up on him after his rookie season.

The 2024 first-round pick of the Lions was an every-down cornerback for the Lions as injuries started piling up. He was one of the few healthy defenders on the roster, playing over 1,000 snaps between the regular season and the playoffs.

Yet, he wasn't able to make the most of his opportunity. Among starting cornerbacks in the NFL, he ranked among the worst performers by Pro Football Focus, receiving a 50.8 defensive grade. He allowed a 60.2% completion rate, 728 yards, and four touchdowns for the season, giving up a 99.2 passer rating when targeted.

The Lions will presumably not be looking for immediate upgrades to Arnold's spot, but if he doesn't show significant improvements before or during the 2025 season, the 21-year-old could be at serious risk of losing his starting job.

This means that if there is an opportunity to land a high-level cornerback through the draft or free agency, the Lions shouldn't pass on the chance because of Arnold.
