Three games are left in the regular season with the playoffs set to get underway next month. The Detroit Lions are 12-2 after they had their 11-game win streak put to an end.

Last Sunday, the Buffalo Bills came into Ford Field and beat Detroit 48-42. Not only did they lose the game, but had multiple key players go down. RB David Montgomery and DL Alim McNeill are done for the year after they both suffered knee injuries.

CB Carlton Davis also suffered a jaw injury and is going to miss six weeks. These guys join Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, Derrick Barnes, Malcolm Rodriguez, and Alex Anzalone, among others, who have been sidelined due to injuries.

That is a tough pill to swallow for sure, as the Lions have Super Bowl aspirations. This team has the next man-up mentality but Hutchinson gave the fanbase some excitement during an interview.

Lions News: Aidan Hutchinson Says He’ll Be Back if Lions Make Super Bowl

The former Michigan standout interviewed with Taylor Lautner, and he revealed that he'll be back on the field if Detroit makes it to Super Bowl LIX.

"I'm on track for my goal of returning for the Super Bowl. I keep telling all the boys when I see em in the facility, you guys just have to get there and I promise you, imma be back."

Aidan Hutchinson

That is music to the ears of the fanbase. Hutchinson suffered a broken tibia and fibula in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to going down, the 24-year-old was on track for a Defensive Player of the Year campaign.

In five games, he had 19 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. According to PFF, Hutchinson had a 94.9 overall grade and a 95 pass rush grade.

The Lions have been slammed with a multitude of injuries, so hearing that their best defensive player is aiming to come back is clutch. Granted, he would likely play limited snaps, but having him out there would give the team a bolt of energy.

Detroit has their hands full to make the trip down to New Orleans but if they do, No. 97 says he'll be on the field.
