Amon-Ra St. Brown Has NSFW Message for Ben Johnson Joining Bears
By Cem Yolbulan
The losses keep piling up for the Detroit Lions. Starting with the disappointing early exit at the hands of the Washington Commanders last week, the Lions are losing key members of the coaching staff to begin the offseason. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was officially announced as the Bears head coach and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is expected to take the head coaching opening with the Jets.
Johnson's loss will be particularly significant for the Lions. Since taking over as the offensive coordinator, Johnson has turned Detroit into the most dynamic offense in the NFL.
With one of the most creative playbooks and football minds in the league, Johnson put together elite offenses all three seasons of his career as OC. After back-to-back seasons as the fifth-best offense in the NFL, the Lions scored the most points of anyone under Johnson in the 2024 season.
Even though the offense made uncharacteristic mistakes against the Commanders, Johnson remained the most coveted head coaching candidate on the market. His absence will surely be felt in Detroit, and star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown wished nothing but the best for his former coach.
Despite praising him and calling him one of the hardest-working coaches in the league, St. Brown didn't hold back from talking trash to his new NFC North rival. With Johnson in Chicago, the Lions will face their former offensive coordinator twice a year.
On his phone call with Johnson, the 25-year-old receiver let him know that he is looking forward to facing him in an NSFW way.

Johnson has been with the Lions since 2019 but was made the passing game coordinator in 2021, the year St. Brown was drafted by Detroit. The fourth-round pick immediately made a big impact in his rookie season, exploding for 90 catches, 912 yards, and five touchdowns.
After St. Brown's rookie season, Johnson was promoted to the offensive coordinator, and the former USC standout's career took off. St. Brown had three straight seasons of 1,000+ yards, made three consecutive Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro.
Even after Johnson's departure, St. Brown will remain as one of the best wide receivers in the game. Johnson, on the other hand, will try to make a similar impact in Chicago with the likes of D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze.
