Even if you're not a Detroit Lions fan, it is impossible not to respect head coach Dan Campbell. Detroit's leader is so incredibly genuine and invested in his team; even if you're not a Lions fan, it demands respect. No one has taken the last two frustrating endings to Detroit's seasons more to heart than the head coach.
The leading reason to wonder if the Lions have another level to be reached as the team continues to pursue the first Super Bowl in franchise history is Dan Campbell. With this in mind, it doesn't come as a surprise that Campbell is not only invested in current players but continues to talk with a former Lions quarterback.
Teddy Bridgewater spent time with the Lions in each of the past two seasons in a backup role. While the quarterback is currently focused on a coaching career, it wouldn't be a surprise to see another late-season reunion. Campbell, making it clear that the two sides remain in contact, speaks to the respect they each have and opens the door for yet another reunion.
"Teddy and I, we talk all the time - I mean, not all the time, but we communicate back and forth, I’ve known Teddy a long time, so yeah. That’s on a personal level. He’s somebody I’ve got a lot of respect for and so just as a human being I’m going to talk to Teddy."Dan Campbell

Campbell staying in touch with Bridgewater doesn't have to indicate a reunion, with it being completely possible that the Detroit head coach is helping the quarterback navigate a complicated situation. Bridgewater is facing a suspension from his current coaching role due to accusations that he provided benefits outside of what the rules allow his players to enjoy.
Regardless, Bridgewater has made his position clear, indicating he is unwilling to walk away, no matter how things play out. This is something that Campbell can unquestionably help guide Bridgewater through as the quarterback deals with the headlines and fallout from the situation. While Campbell gives no indication of this, it seems likely that this has been a topic of conversation as well as a possible open invitation for Bridgewater's return.
Detroit's current backup options are underwhelming, with Hendon Hooker appearing to have the inside track behind Jared Goff. If coaching doesn't work out in the former quarterback's favor, it wouldn't be a surprise to see a reunion happen at some point in the 2025 season.
