The Green Bay Packers are the talk of the NFL this week after swinging a trade with the Dallas Cowboys that brought All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons to the NFC North for the next five seasons.
While there is no doubt that Parsons is an elite talent from the Detroit Lions' side of things, head coach Dan Campbell remains confident that his Lions roster will be able to go on the road to Lambeau Field this Sunday and come away with the win against their division rival in a game that will have the eyes of the football world on it.
During his time with the media on Monday morning, Campbell was asked about the impact Parsons will have on how his team approaches their season opener, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic. In typical Campbell fashion, his response oozed confidence as, despite the challenges a player like Parsons presents, the veteran head coach knows his group will be up to the task.

"We know what kind of player he is. He's a really good player, but we'll have a plan."
Campbell Promises Lions Have Plan to Neutralize Packers' Micah Parsons
Does the addition of Parsons to Green Bay's roster change the equation a bit in the division now? Unquestionably. With that being said, the Lions now have an opportunity to make a statement not only to the Packers but to the entire NFL with their play this Sunday. If Campbell is correct, and Detroit can formulate a game plan on the fly that limits Parsons' effectiveness, the rest of the league will take notice and, in turn, view the Lions as an even greater threat than before.
After putting together a 15-2 record to win the NFC North crown this past season, Campbell has every right to be confident in the abilities of his team to go out and get the job done each weekend. With the pieces that returned from last year's team, coupled with the additions made this offseason, Detroit is in a position where it can honestly believe a Super Bowl run is within its grasp.
As a former player, Campbell understands that there is no benefit to giving the opposition any extra motivation ahead of a game that already has major stakes attached to it. Having respect for an opponent does not prevent Campbell or his roster from having the level of confidence that Detroit brings to the field every weekend.
With offensive weapons like Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, and Sam LaPorta raring to go, it could ultimately be the Lions that are the ones putting pressure on Parsons and the Packers' defense rather than the other way around.
