The Detroit Lions have one of, if not the best, wide receiver rooms in the NFL as Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams play off of one another as perfectly as they could to help serve as the catalysts for Detroit's offense.

While he was a heralded prep prospect entering his time at the University of Michigan, for one reason or another, Peoples-Jones has had issues providing the level of play many expected, which led to him falling to the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Peoples-Jones returned to Michigan during the 2023 season as a member of the Detroit Lions following a trade with the Browns. Unfortunately, Peoples-Jones didn't exactly blow the competition away during that stretch as his tenure in Detroit ended with him reeling in five total catches for 58 yards in eight games played. This past season, Peoples-Jones was a member of Detroit's practice squad.

The wideout entered the offseason looking for a new home and has reportedly found one following a successful tryout over the weekend. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Peoples-Jones has come to terms on a deal with the New Orleans Saints.

To say that New Orleans is a desirable situation for any pass catcher at the moment is a stretch. What was already a murky quarterback situation somehow got worse with the news of Derek Carr's retirement. Now the franchise must move forward with one of three options with limited experience at the professional level, rookie Tyler Shough, second-year QB Spencer Rattler, and third-year QB Jake Haener.

With Peoples-Jones now in the fold in New Orleans, he will most likely serve as a depth piece behind starters Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks. Special teams will likely be where his best opportunity to make meaningful contributions will come as Peoples-Jones has previously earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors during his time with the Cleveland Browns.

The Lions and Saints are not scheduled to face one another this season. It will certainly be interesting to follow just what Peoples-Jones is able to do in New Orleans though, as the former Michigan Wolverines star's future could depend on it.
