The Detroit Tigers have seen hundreds of players join and leave their organization throughout their 124-year history. While some of those players' impact left an unforgettable impression on the Motor City, others have become more of a forgotten part of the club's history with each passing year.

Regardless of how much (or little) a player succeeded in Detroit, it can always be fun to check in on what an ex-Tiger is up to. As it turns out, one former Tigers outfielder is about to temporarily step away from baseball to begin an exciting chapter of his life.

Former Tigers OF Daz Cameron Placed on Paternity List by Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers are placing former Tigers OF Daz Cameron on the paternity list, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Todd Roziak. According to the MLB's rulebook, any player placed on the paternity list will miss at least one game but no more than three.

A former 2015 first-round pick by the Houston Astros, Cameron was traded to the Tigers in the August 2017 deal that sent former ace Justin Verlander to the Lone Star State. The McDonough, GA native eventually made his debut in 2020 before playing parts of three seasons with Detroit, slashing .201/.266/.330 with five home runs, 24 RBIs, 17 walks, and nine stolen bases in 73 games.

The Tigers placed Cameron on waivers following the 2022 season, resulting in his being claimed by the Baltimore Orioles and spending the 2023 campaign with their Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk. He then signed a minor-league contract with the then-Oakland Athletics before being traded back to the O's for cash this past October.

Cameron didn't play a game in his second Baltimore stint, though, as he was traded to the Brewers, along with cash, for veteran pitcher Grant Wolfram in April.

Since making his Brewers debut, Cameron has gone on to slash .200/.220/.300 while notching one HR, three RBIs, one stolen base, and a walk in 19 games (40 at-bats) so far. He's also batting .370 with a 1.273 OPS, six HRs, 18 RBIs, and three stolen bases in 11 outings with Triple-A Nashville.

An individual's life often changes once they enter parenthood. Perhaps Cameron becoming a father will motivate the former Tigers outfielder to take his game to the next level so that he can finally become an everyday Major Leaguer.
