The Detroit Lions are getting ready to host the Washington Commanders on Saturday in their first playoff game on their way to the Super Bowl. The Lions are overwhelming 8.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook against the Commanders in the divisional round.

As fans expect a win from the Lions, the team has all sorts of festivities planned for the occasion. To kick things off on Saturday, Detroit native Caleb Carroll will be singing the national anthem.

Lions Reveal National Anthem Singer for Saturday Showdown vs. Commanders

Carroll, who is a resident of West Bloomfield, Michigan, is 23 years old and has been singing since he was six years old, according to his website. He has previously sung in various sporting events and big occasions, including the U.S. Open and America's Thanksgiving Parade.

He is also very familiar with singing at Ford Field, as Carroll had the national anthem duties in Detroit's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams. He previously performed in front of Lions fans, including before the Thanksgiving game in 2020.

The Rams game ended with a Lions victory, and the fans will be hoping for a repeat of that scenario. If they advance, the Lions will have home-field advantage in the next round as they face the winner of the Eagles vs. Rams matchup.

Last season, the Lions won both of their home games in the playoffs before losing to the 49ers on the road in the NFC Championship game. Thanks to their home-field advantage, Dan Campbell & Co. hopes to go one step farther this time.
