The Detroit Lions saw several coaches bolt town this offseason. Former defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn decided to leave to become the New York Jets head coach.

It was a reunion for Glenn, who was drafted by Gang Green in 1994. The first-time head coach is now tasked with turning around a Jets organization that currently has the longest playoff drought in the NFL.

Training camp has entered week three, and Glenn is already dealing with some QB problems. According to SNY reporter Connor Hughes, Justin Fields has gone 15-of-43 with two interceptions in his last three practices.

Glenn was asked if he had any concerns with the passing game, and he responded, "I don't because it's early."

Aaron Glenn Already Has Some QB Problems with Jets

This is something different that Glenn has experienced the last three years with Jared Goff under center with the Lions. Over the last four seasons, Goff completed 67.9% of his passes for 16,887 passing yards, 115 passing touchdowns, and 39 interceptions.

Granted, it was Ben Johnson calling the shots, and that won't be the case in New York. Instead, it will be Tanner Engstrand as the offensive coordinator for the first time, but he played a role in game planning under Johnson.

Nonetheless, they are implementing a new offensive scheme, and it looks like Fields is having some trouble right now. Everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt, though. The Jets are searching for a WR2 to emerge behind Garrett Wilson. They have guys like Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard, and Tyler Johnson competing for that role. It seems like Reynolds is the leader in that department, but none of these WRs are dynamic pass catchers.

That's without mentioning that the trio of Sauce Gardner, Michael Carter, and Brandon Stephens has a chance to be one of the better CBs groups in the NFL.

They are making things difficult for Fields and the offense, leading to these inconsistencies in practices. The first preseason game is on Aug. 9 against the Green Bay Packers. Glenn hasn't announced if starters will be out there or not, but with how the last couple of practices have gone, it would be wise to get these players some in-game reps.

The Jets' offense isn't expected to be one of the best units in the league like the Lions had, but the trend coming out of Florham Park isn't the best right now. And Glenn is now tasked with finding some resolutions.
