Obviously, it's reasonable that fans would want to see their team, which has the best opportunity to win a Super Bowl in franchise history, in action. Even still, these prices may make it impossible for the Lions' most ardent supporters to earn a ticket, creating larger concern overall.
Detroit is celebrating the best regular season in franchise history, though hopefull it won't come at the expense of the most supportive fans' finances.
Lions vs. Commanders Ticket Prices Reach Record Highs
According to Tick Pick, the average purchase price of the contest is a whopping $991. That's the most expensive ticket for any NFL game outside of a Super Bowl on record, speaking to the importance of this Divisional Round matchup.
The Lions are massive 9.5-point favorites against the Commanders at FanDuel Sportsbook, currently holding the largest discrepancy among odds for any playoff game. Detroit is widely expected to emerge victorious moving forward.
This is an exciting time for Lions fans, who have the rare opportunity to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history. Should Detroit get the job done, there is much to celebrate across the city. Detroit has the rare chance to make a legendary impact, highly considered likely to do so.
These outsized ticket prices aren't realistic yet are somehow expected, representing how much this roster means to the entire city. If fans are willing to spend nearly $1,000 to see their team, what kind of pressure does that add to the players themselves?
