The Detroit Lions have some problems that need to be corrected after falling to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9. Their lackluster third-down offense is one major area for improvement, but they may need to acquire another offensive lineman after Christian Mahogany went down with a knee injury and is likely sidelined until December.

Fortunately for them, it appears that two offensive linemen could be on the move. According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Washington Commanders are open to trading OL Andrew Wylie and OL Nick Allegretti. Since Washington dropped to 3-6 on the season and Jayden Daniels suffered an elbow injury, they could be sellers ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

Wylie has the position flexibility, playing both guard spots and even right tackle. Meanwhile, Allegretti has postseason experience after playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lions Have Two Potential OL Trade Targets in Final 24 Hours Before Deadline

The Lions drafted Tate Ratledge in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, and he has started in all eight games for them thus far. Through the first half of his rookie campaign, he's been solid, especially as a run blocker. On Pro Football Focus, he has a 68.5 overall grade and a 72.3 run blocking grade. He still has room for improvement as a pass blocker (51.2), but the Lions likely wouldn't want to move him from that spot.

That's where a guy like Wylie could come into play. In his eight-year career with the Chiefs and Commanders, he's been able to bounce around the offensive line, meaning he could slide into the left guard spot if needed. He's 31 years old and will hit free agency after the season.

That means it shouldn't cost more than a late Day 3 draft to poach him from Washington, especially since they are looking to add some draft capital in this lost season.

The same can be said about Allegretti, who has just one year left on his deal. Although he plays right guard, the Lions may look at him as an asset to their offensive front.

Nonetheless, the Lions have two options that emerged at the perfect time. With the trade deadline less than a day away, Detroit would need to act quickly here. It's hard to snag starting-caliber offensive linemen, especially this late into the season.

The injury news to Mahogany wasn't ideal but Detroit has some possible replacements staring at them.
