The Detroit Lions have been off to an interesting offseason, signing some intriguing options while prioritizing depth pieces as they continue to build on one of the best rosters in the NFL.
Despite falling short in the playoffs against the upstart Washington Commanders, the Lions should still feel confident in their future given the excellent organizational direction provided by general manager Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell.
There haven't been many misses lately in the NFL Draft, with guys like Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta turning into stars, though one recent whiff in a trade-up has now given fans a reason to feel confident with spots on the offensive line up for grabs.

Struggling Recent Lions Draft Pick Shines in New Workout Video
Giovanni Manu, a fourth-round pick by Detroit in 2024, appears to be working out at LB Offensive Performance (OLP) this offseason, which is an "invite only" training club and facility run by former Pro Bowler LeCharles Bentley. In a recent video shared by OLP Media, Manu is seen doing some impressive workouts, which is great to see after failing to appear in a game during his rookie campaign.
Originally drafted and traded by the New York Jets for a 2025 third-rounder, Manu had enough promise that the Lions felt comfortable firing off a more valuable future draft pick for his services. At six-foot-seven and 354 pounds, the powerful lineman could theoretically be a starter for this team moving forward, especially given his past work at guard and the fact Kevin Zeitler left for the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
That kind of size is rare to come by, and Detroit is known for its ability to churn out quality offensive linemen. Manu could be the next man up, though his rookie season was one to forget. Even still, this is someone whose athleticism demands patience at the very least.
While he wasn't invited to the 2024 NFL Combine, Manu's 4.96 40-yard dash and 33.5-inch vertical jump at his Pro Day would've ranked in the 90th percentile of offensive linemen who competed. As long as the franchise hasn't soured on his talents, Manu could become a fan-favorite contributor in the future.
For now, here's hoping this video is a sign of great things to come in 2025.
