Every fan base in the league is entertaining the possibility of how a potential Micah Parsons trade might look for their team. This includes the Detroit Lions, who are already considered among the league's elite.

It is understandable to love the idea of adding one of the most talented defenders in recent memory. However, the Lions are the rare example of a team that should have zero interest in adding the star player. The first and most obvious hurdle is the salary cap situation and finding any scenario where you are able to add Parsons and pay the star what he deserves.

The entire reason for the potential divorce in Dallas is the failure of the Cowboys to give Parsons a top-dollar deal. With this in mind, the Lions are already ruled out as a potential landing spot.

Taking this a step further, Parsons doesn't fit the attitude of the team, or in truth, is a needed addition. This isn't to argue that the star wouldn't make any team he joins better, but pointing out the team mentality of Detroit doesn't fit with Parsons, who is a household name not just for his performance on the field.

Lions Should Have Zero Interest in Micah Parsons

Parsons has turned his love for the game into a noted podcast that has often made headlines since joining the Cowboys. The defender isn't afraid to speak his mind or talk about difficult situations with other teams or teammates.

While Detroit understands that this is a piece of the game now, the style with which Parsons carries himself simply doesn't fit Dan Campbell's hard-nosed group. There is no individual focus with this roster, no matter how talented or established you might be.

What has defined the last two seasons of football for Detroit is the ability for any player to take a step back and accept a lesser role. It is a group of players and coaches who truly love to fight for each other. It shows up on the field every week and is why the Lions have quickly become one of the more popular teams around the league. Parsons makes this team better, but simply doesn't fit with what Detroit is building, even if cap magic were to be worked.

It seems the most likely path remains Parsons and Dallas finding a way to resolve the current situation and signing an extension. However, even if things continue to devolve and a deal is done, the Lions simply cannot entertain chasing after the star with the current core and the heights the team is already capable of reaching.
