As the Detroit Lions prepare for a potential Super Bowl run, over half of the rest of the NFL is already in offseason mode.

Unsurprisingly, non-playoff teams have wasted no time firing coaching and management personnel. The Tennessee Titans are the latest franchise to pull off a front-office shake-up after announcing that they fired general manager Ryan Carthon on Tuesday.

The Titans' next GM might want to completely overhaul the roster, meaning plenty of players could be available for a trade this offseason. Assuming that's the case, Lions GM Brad Holmes might want to make a call to Tennessee regarding a specific wide receiver.

Lions Rumors: Detroit Should Target Titans WR Treylon Burks

If the Lions are looking to add another receiving threat this offseason, they should make an offer for Titans WR Treylon Burks.

The 24-year-old playmaker was one of the most promising pass-catchers ahead of the 2022 NFL draft. Burks was coming off a dominant collegiate performance with the Arkansas Razorbacks, using his speed to rack up 66 catches for 1,104 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns en route to first-team All-SEC honors.

The Titans hoped that Burks could have similar success at the NFL level, but that hasn't been the case.

Injuries have prevented the Warren, AR native from reaching his true potential. Burks has only suited up in 27-of-51 (52.9%) of games to begin his NFL career. That includes playing only five games in 2024, resulting in just 34 yards without a TD on four catches.

Even though things didn't work out for Burks in Tennessee, a move to the Motor City could rejuvenate his career.

The Lions have one of the most dynamic aerial attacks in the NFL, averaging 23.5 completions (7th) and 263.2 passing yards (2nd) per game this season. There are more than enough opportunities to go around in the Jared Goff-led offense, especially with WRs Allen Robinson and Tim Patrick potentially leaving as free agents this offseason.

Burks is also only turning 25 years old in March, so there's plenty of time for him to carve out a respectable career in Detroit. He's the type of versatile wideout that head coach Dan Campbell would love and the Lions might not have to pay much to acquire him if the Titans are just focused on stockpiling draft picks.

Any potential Burks trade will have to wait until after the Lombardi Trophy is handed out, though. Speaking of which, the Lions are entering the NFL postseason as FanDuel Sportsbook's +320 favorite to win Super Bowl LIX.
