The Detroit Lions entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Detroit went 15-2 and will have playoff games run through Ford Field on the NFC side of the bracket.

After the sixth-seed Washington Commanders beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 in the Wild Card Round, it was determined that they would be traveling to square off against the Lions in the Divisional Round.

Head coach Dan Campbell confirmed that running back David Montgomery will be taking the field against Washington and expressed how important he is to the team.

The Lions have opened up as 8.5-point favorites according to FanDuel Sportsbook but they wasted no time preparing for the contest.

Lions News: Detroit Took Notes on Commanders During Wild Card Game

Campbell was speaking to team reporters on Wednesday and revealed that the team started taking notes of the Commanders during their Wild Card game. Then on Monday, they took a deep dive into Washington.

The Lions are locked in on a Commanders team that is being led by Dan Quinn and rookie phenom Jayden Daniels. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft threw for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns. In the win over the Bucs, Washington didn't punt or turn the ball over. That was the third time they've done that this season.

The defense will have their hands full, but so will the Commanders. The Lions play extremely well at home, going 7-2 at Ford Field in the regular season.

Detroit understands the significance of playoff football and started taking notes before the game was even done. Campbell's statements highlight how locked in they are. If they were taking notes on Washington, they likely did the same on Tampa Bay.

The Lions want to take advantage of every second they have leading into the game. Not every team takes that approach, and this is another reason why the culture in Detroit is top-notch. They're always looking to get better and put in the time to make sure they are prepared.

Detroit is the favorite at +300 to win the Super Bowl per FanDuel Sportsbook.

They have to take care of business versus Washington, so they got a head start on them.
