The Detroit Lions were one of the first teams to report to training camp for the 2025 season. This group is ready to have another excellent campaign, but the work starts in the summer.
Rapport and relationships are built during these practices, and one rookie playmaker is off to a solid start. According to X account DetroitPodcast, WR Isaac TeSlaa had a few nice grabs in Monday's practice and is building chemistry with quarterbacks Jared Goff and Hendon Hooker.

Lions WR Isaac TeSlaa Quickly Standing Out in Practice
When Detroit took TeSlaa, it came as a surprise due to the lack of top-notch production in college. In his two seasons at Arkansas, he posted 62 catches for 896 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Despite these numbers, his athletic traits are what stick out. He stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 214 pounds. His RAS (Relative Athletic Score) was one of the best ones in league history. He scored an unofficial 9.97 score out of 10.00. That ranked 11th out of 3,441 WRs between 1987 to 2025.

While he has to grow as a route runner, he still has strong hands and can track the ball pretty well. The starting trio at WR will be Amon Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Tim Patrick.
Despite that, injuries could happen at any time, so TeSlaa will need to stay ready, and he's off to a good start. The 23-year-old will be battling against Kalif Raymond, Tom Kennedy, Dominic Lovett, Malik Taylor, Jakobie Keeney-James, and Jackson Meeks for that next batch of targets.
Being the 70th overall pick and his athletic profile will have him standing out when he takes the field, but that's not enough. These practice sessions allow him to showcase what he can bring to the offense before preseason games kick off.
TeSlaa will be someone to watch for this summer as the Lions offense seeks to hit the ground running with John Morton running the show.
