The Detroit Pistons have a chance to make noise this offseason by adding to an already impressive roster that is full of young, talented players.
The team looks to have the pieces in place to contend for the playoffs in the Eastern Conference for years to come. The time is now for Trajan Langdon to take advantage of the position the franchise is in and make a push to bolster the roster and make Detroit more than just a playoff contender.
We have already heard of names like Myles Turner and Naz Reid linked to the franchise as potential targets this offseason. This led us to break out our favorite trade machine to see what deals could be cooked up to bring in veterans who have seen it all during their respective careers.
Pistons Get Two-Way Wing Andrew Wiggins in Latest Projected Trade
Andrew Wiggins would be an interesting fit in Detroit and, in this scenario, would be brought in without losing much in terms of rotation players or future draft capital. On the court, Wiggins would provide veteran stability on both ends of the floor. He has also been around enough successful veterans during his career to serve as a leader in the locker room.
In terms of what would be shipped out of town, Stewart provided the team with depth at the center position, but Jalen Duren has overtaken him on the depth chart. Fontecchio played no major role in the team's success this past season, so getting out of that contract alone could be an addition by subtraction. Finally, the protections on the draft pick should provide Detroit with some security should a player, God forbid, go down with an injury.
Given their position in the Central Division, making a noteworthy move of some sort this offseason seems like a must-do for Detroit as they look to not only build on their success from the 2024-25 campaign but keep pace with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers.
