The Detroit Pistons selected one of the top scorers in the SEC when they chose former Tennessee Volunteers star Chaz Lanier with the No. 37 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and the franchise has continued to pursue players capable of stretching the floor since.
While he will have to earn his way onto the roster with his performance in summer league play this July, Detroit has locked down one of the best scorers to not have their name called on Wednesday or Thursday night.
If the former Nebraska Cornhuskers standout can be as effective for the summer Pistons as he was in the Big 10 this past season, Trajan Langdon will have landed a diamond in the rough.
Pistons Sign All-Big 10 Sharpshooter Brice Williams After NBA Draft
The Big 10 was right there with the SEC this past season in terms of the top conferences in college basketball, and former Nebraska star Brice Williams was one of the league's top scoring threats. Now, after going undrafted, the sharpshooting wing has signed on with Detroit in hopes of locking down a spot on the roster for the 2025-26 campaign, according to Bryan Kalbrosky of USA Today Sports.

The former Nebraska star was First-Team All-Big Ten, averaging 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 38.5% from 3 in college.

With Williams and Lanier, at the least, set to take the floor for the Pistons' summer league team, Detroit should have no issues putting the ball in the bucket as you don't average 20+ points per game, while shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc, in a league as good as the Big 10 by accident.
If Williams can put those skills that Big 10 fans are used to seeing on display for Langdon and the brain trust in the Pistons' front office, he could be a sneaky threat to secure a spot in the organization, in one way or another.
Several dominoes still need to fall before Detroit knows what its rotation on the perimeter will look like this coming season. With Tim Hardaway Jr., Malik Beasley, and Dennis Schroder all eligible for free agency, Williams could have a real opportunity to turn heads with the Pistons if he plays up to his capabilities next month.
